Knowing our social brain helps us to understand the impact of emotions and behaviors in our life, and in the lives of those around us. We help people to create new mental wiring (new ways of thinking) through
a process of reflection, insight, and action while learning about the brain. Clients begin to create new patterns of thought: enhancing thinking, improving communication and relationships, while meeting
self-defined goals and increasing their overall performance in areas of life important to them.
What To Expect
The first session is 60 − 90 minutes. During that time, we'll work together to explore your thinking: what is important to you, any goals you may have, and how your life is currently functioning. By session's end, you will have set goals in three areas of your life that are important to you. These goals serve as the vehicle for your self-exploration during the coaching engagement. Goal setting, while important, is
merely the vehicle; the heart of the work is in your unique journey.
You can expect a supportive and nurturing environment that invites you to self-reflect, and practice the shifting of attention from what causes and drives pain to what energizes and pulls you forward. We are not ignoring or pretending that difficulties do not exist, as they are addressed, we just do not exclusively focus on problems. This insight-promoting approach, in turn, helps build cognitive flexibility and resilience as positive emotions broaden people's momentary thought-action skill set and builds on enduring personal resources.
